History: 1908 A trapper boy, one mile inside Turkey Knob Mine in Macdonald, WV. The trapper was often the youngest worker. Their job was to open & close the wooden trap doors that allowed fresh air to flow through the mine often in total darkness for up to 12 hours. [1197x1645]
