As recently as 10 years ago, there were dozens of everyday players from Puerto Rico in the majors including several superstars, such as the Alomars, Bernie Williams, Juan Gonzalez, Carlos Delgado, I-Rod, Posada, Mike Lowell, etc.In 2014 though, not one single Puerto Rican player qualified for the batting title. The only ones who got any playing time to speak of were the Molina brothers, Rene Rivera, Carlos Beltran and Angel Pagan.Among pitchers, Javier Lopez was the only PR pitcher who threw more than 12 innings, and not one single Puerto Rican started a game. What's going on? via /r/baseball http://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/comments/2m3sw8/what_happened_to_all_the_puerto_ricans/
